Our Neighborhood

Pleasant Valley is located in the Mont Pleasant neighborhood which is in the south central part of the Schenectady and consists of 521 acres.  Mont Pleasant has more residents than any of the other residential neighborhoods.  

Institutional and community facilities serving the neighborhood include Hamilton Elementary School, Mont Pleasant Middle School, Steinmetz Career and Leadership Academy and the Mont Pleasant Branch Library, Fire Station #3 (on Third Ave.), Stelmack Park, 10th and Webster Park, Orchard Park, Wallingford Park, Michigan Avenue Park, Quackenbush Park, Grout Park and the Mont Pleasant Athletic Field.

Our Mission

Pleasant Valley's mission is to provide each student with the opportunity to achieve high academic goals based on the New York State Standards.  We will accomplish this by establishing and maintaining a positive, safe school climate that encourages mutual respect, responsibility, and enhanced self-esteem through collaboration by students, staff, parents and the greater community.
